Safe and Effective Kennewick Botox Injections

Prepared from the bacterial toxin botulinum, used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing facial muscles.

We use all FDA approved neuromodulators, Botox, Xeomin and Dysport. These are the different brand names for neurotoxic proteins produced by bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species. They work by preventing the release of neurotransmitter, acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction which then causes localized paralysis. This is used to reduce fine wrinkles and lines by paralyzing the underlying muscles. Thus, even though your brain can fire and send a signal to your body to move a particular muscle, Botox affectively blocks that firing and keeps the muscle from moving. The injected muscle can no longer contract with the local paralyzing agent. This causes the wrinkles to relax, soften and disappear as well as can prevent new ones from forming. Over time (usually by the third or fourth injection) the muscle atrophies and weakens requiring less Botox to maintain it. Botox then reduces the activity of muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. All of these three products last between 3 to 6 months in duration.

Neuromodulators are injected with very small insulin needles and are mixed with Lidocaine to minimize discomfort. It is a quick procedure taking approximately 15 minutes for most sections of the face. There is little to no down time with the minor bruising or swelling generally resolving the day of or much less frequently a couple days. Depending on the product you can start seeing results in as little as 2 days or at the most 10 to 14 days for full effect. For both Botox and dermal filler, it is best to avoid cardiovascular and weightlifting exercise as well as alcohol use for the day of your treatment for 24 hours.
