What are IV Infusions and How Can it Help Me?

Intravenously administered normal saline is a prescription only medication used for multiple ailments including dehydration, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hangover, headache, electrolyte imbalances, metabolic abnormalities, and other illnesses. It can be used to improve overall hydration, skin elasticity and fullness, kidney function, metabolic needs, electrolyte abnormalities, fluid imbalances, and much more.

Intravenously administered normal saline bypasses the digestive system completely and allows for immediate results by going directly to the blood and thus does not give any nausea or vomiting. It is also the fastest way to deliver medications via the circulatory system. As the fluids go directly where they are required, it results in quick recovery. Patients will feel refreshed and rejuvenated within a matter of minutes

Another benefit of IV therapy is that it helps avoid negative side effects that would otherwise occur if the fluids were administered orally. High concentration of minerals and vitamins administered orally can wreak havoc on the body. IV therapy, however, bypasses the gastrointestinal system. IV fluid resuscitation with normal saline is monitored by a physician or nurse practitioner/physician’s assistant and takes about 30-45 minutes for infusion depending on what vitamin or medication cocktail is included.
