Generally, hyaluronic acid fillers last from 6 to 12 months and less frequently up to 18 months. The hyaluronic acid fillers are naturally broken down by the body with results fading away without long-term risks. More common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain during procedure, redness, itching or rash. Rare side effects include local infection, leakage of filler through the injection site, granulomas (A type of inflammatory reaction to the filler), nodules around the injection site, and movement of the filler. Dermal filler requires more time for an appointment. Generally, between 30 to 45 minutes depending on location and how many areas are needing to be filled.
