CO2 LASER TREATMENTS:
WHO CAN BENEFIT?
Co2 laser is a state of the art, ablative laser that can treat a multitude of concerns of the face, neck, chest, hands, stretch marks, or any other skin surface. It works extremely well for stretch marks that are caused by weight fluctuation or pregnancy. Co2 laser treatments are the gold standard treatment for vaginal rejuvenation to help with incontinence and sexual dysfunction that is often caused by pregnancy or aging. CO2 skin resurfacing on the face is exceptional for sun damage, scarring, deep wrinkles, evening skin tones, improving skin laxity, tightening and brightening, and making a drastic difference on texture and appearance!
THE PROCESS
Our medical providers will do a complete skin evaluation and medical history to evaluate if you are a good candidate for CO2 treatment. On the day of the procedure our medical providers will offer Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as well as topical and or local anesthetic to help with the potential discomfort. Our medical providers will perform the procedure and give pre and post treatment skin prescriptions based on your specific needs.o
VAGINAL REJUVENATION
Pre-op: Two weeks prior we will screen for fungus/yeast infections
- Prefer not treating on menses – more sensitive to the patient
- No std or active herpetic lesions
- No pregnancy
- No piercings – please remove
- No antibiotics – delayed healing
- No active cancer
Post op:
- No intercourse for 1 week
- No friction/running/exercise for 1 week
- No tampon for 1 week
- No foreign body water/bathtub/hot tub for 1 week
- No underwear until comfortable – allow it to breathe
- Apply Aquaphor on the outside
FACIAL RESURFACING CONTRAINDICATION
- No retinal‘s, self tanning, or sun two weeks prior
- No antibiotics or sickness (delayed healing)
- No herpes, active infections, or open sores
Post op (face)
- No excessive heat/exercise for 1 week
- No scrubs, abrasives or exfoliation for 2 weeks
- No showers hitting you in the face
- No sun exposure for 2 weeks
- No picking or peeling dry skin
- If dry apply more Aquaphor
- Retinals allowed at 3-4 weeks
- No washing dishes, no scented lotions, no dyes for 1 week
Q&A
How many treatments are needed for Vaginal Rejuvenation, facial resurfacing, stretch marks etc? A series of 3 treatments, about 8 weeks apart is necessary for optimal results.
Will I have downtime? For CO2 to the face, you will have about 7-10 days of down time. Other than staying out of the sun and proper skin treatments for 14 days, downtime is only as necessary as you feel it is. You can return to work (indoors) as soon as you feel comfortable to do so.
Will I need a driver? No, all medications that we give you will be non mind altering and will be out of your system prior to leaving, making it safe for you to drive, as long as you feel so to do so. However, if you would like to have a driver, we have a comfy waiting area for them to wait for you.
How long is the procedure? Co2 ranges anywhere from about 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the procedure and your comfort level.
